Introduction This Privacy Policy applies to the XDFamily Tree App, KomKal, and ReadCompApp (collectively, “the Apps”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data of our users. This document explains what information is collected, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.
Information We Collect A. Voluntarily Provided Data (XDFamily) To build your family tree, you may voluntarily input the following: • Genealogy Data: Names, dates of birth, relationships, and family history. • Media: Personal portraits or images uploaded to represent family members. • Export Files: Data you choose to export in JSON or other formats for personal backup. B. Automatically Collected Data Our apps are designed to be “offline-first.” We do not automatically collect personal identifiers. We may collect: • Technical Vitals: Anonymous crash logs and performance metrics (via Google Play Vitals) to help us debug the app. • Device Information: Non-identifying information such as OS version and device model.
How Data is Stored (Local-First Architecture) Your data belongs to you. * Local Storage: All genealogy records and portraits in XDFamily are stored locally on your device’s internal storage. We do not host a central database of your family history. • No Cloud Sync: Unless explicitly stated in a future update, your data is not synced to our servers.
Permissions Disclosure To provide core functionality, we request the following permissions: • Photos/Media: Required in XDFamily to allow you to select and display family portraits. We only access the specific images you select. • Storage/Files: Required to save your exported JSON tree files to your device.
Data Sharing & Third Parties • No Sale of Data: We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data. • Third-Party Services: We use Apple Store and Google Play Services for app distribution and basic analytics. These services may collect information as outlined in the Google Privacy Policy.
Data Retention & Deletion • User Control: You can delete your data at any time by deleting individual entries or the app itself. • Account Deletion: Since the app operates locally without a mandatory cloud account, “deleting your account” is as simple as clearing the app’s storage in your device settings. • Web Deletion Request: If you have opted into any beta features requiring a login, you may request full data wipe at: [Insert Your Website/GitHub Link Here]/delete-account.
Data Portability We believe in your right to your data. XDFamily includes a JSON export feature, allowing you to move your genealogy data to other platforms or keep your own independent backups.
Children’s Privacy Our apps (specifically ReadCompApp and KomKal) are intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
